Warranty

Our 15-Year Workmanship Warranty

Every roof we install is backed by a written workmanship warranty that runs 15 years. Here is what it covers and how to use it if you ever need to.

Two warranties

Two warranties come with every new roof

When a roofer talks up a long warranty, ask one question: who actually stands behind it? A new roof carries two separate warranties, and they cover different things.

Our workmanship warranty: 15 years

This one comes from us and covers the installation itself. If something on your roof fails because of how we installed it, we come back and fix it. It runs 15 years from the day we finish, and you get it as a written document with our name on it. Most of the failures we get called to look at on other companies' roofs started with the installation, which is exactly why we put ours in writing.

The manufacturer's warranty: materials

This one comes from the shingle manufacturer and covers defects in the materials, not the work. The part homeowners rarely hear is that it only stands if the roof was installed to the manufacturer's specifications. We are a Malarkey Emerald Pro contractor, so the manufacturer checks our installations and the material warranty on a roof we replace holds up.

What's covered

What the workmanship warranty covers

The test is one sentence long: if our work caused the problem, we fix it. In practice, that means the things that go wrong when a roof is put on badly.

  • Installation defects: nailing, sealing, underlayment and shingle work that wasn't done right.
  • Flashing: the metal we installed at chimneys, walls, valleys and skylights, staying watertight.
  • Penetrations: vents, plumbing stacks and every other spot where something passes through the roof.

Storm damage is different. Hail and wind are insurance matters, and a flaw in the shingle itself belongs to the manufacturer. Not sure which bucket your problem is in? Call anyway. We'll get on the roof and tell you straight, even when the answer is that it isn't on us.

Making a claim

How a warranty claim works

Nobody mails you a claim form. It works like every other conversation with us.

1

Call or email

Monday to Friday, 8 to 5, at (403) 460-9394 or through the contact page. Tell us what you're seeing and when it started.

2

We come look

We get on the roof, find the cause and photograph it, the same way we handle any roof inspection.

3

We make it right

If our work caused it, we fix it. If something else did, you get the photos and a straight answer about who covers it.

In writing

On paper, in plain language

The warranty is a document, not a handshake. You get it when the job is done, with the same company name on it as your quote and your invoice. We wrote the terms so a person can actually read them, no asterisks, and published the full text so you can check every word before you sign anything.

Questions

Warranty FAQs

Is the workmanship warranty the same as the shingle warranty?

No. The manufacturer's warranty covers defects in the materials and comes from the manufacturer. Our 15-year workmanship warranty covers the installation and comes from us. You get both documents when the job is done, and they answer for different things.

Does the workmanship warranty cover hail or wind damage?

No, and no workmanship warranty does. Storm damage is an insurance matter, not an installation defect. If a storm hits your roof, we will still inspect it, document what we find, and tell you honestly whether it is an insurance claim or a paid repair.

What do I do if I think I have a warranty problem?

Call or email us, Monday to Friday, 8 to 5, and describe what you are seeing. We come out, get on the roof, and find the cause. If our work caused it, we fix it. If something else caused it, you get the photos and a straight answer about who covers it.
